Eviction Ban & COVID-19 Unemployment
TOO MUCH POLITICS
I understand completely the argument for the eviction ban. You always hear these sob stories on the PRO side. But let’s list some items on the other side for the people with sob stories to answer:
- The LandLord still have to pay their mortgage. When they don’t have people paying rent, how are they supposed to do that?
- The LanLord still has to maintain the property and pay for repairs. When they don’t have people paying rent, how are they supposed to do that?
- Should the landlord lose his/her property to the bank because you “can’t afford” to pay your rent? If so, what makes you better than the landlord?
We tried to hire several people during COVID-19, and people don’t want to work. They will make an interview appointment, and then either cancel the morning of the appointment or never show up. We posted two jobs, we had 100+ people apply on line (really how hard is it to apply on line, and they cal tell the unemployment people they are looking). But when we tried to interview 10 people who were actually qualified for the job, ONE PERSON SHOWED UP.
Now I am not saying everyone is like this, but I feel safe saying:
MOST PEOPLE (90% based on my statistic) WHO ARE UNEMPLOYED ARE UNEMPLOYED BY CHOICE —
ITS EASIER TO COLLECT MY TAX MONEYS AS UNEMPLOYMENT THAN ACTUALLY WORK.
